Our AML and Verification Policy
We hold our Curaçao licence (8048/JAZ2023-045) on the condition that every player is who they say they are. This page sets out, in plain terms, how we verify you, when we ask for more information, and what happens if verification is not completed.
Our Commitment to AML Rules
Money laundering is the attempt to make funds from criminal activity appear legitimate. Under the anti-money-laundering obligations attached to our Curaçao licence, we must operate controls that detect and prevent this. We take that duty seriously, because a single weak control harms every honest player on our platform.
Our framework covers three layers: verifying who you are at the points of risk, monitoring how money moves through your account, and reporting suspicious activity to the relevant authority. We cannot disclose when a report has been made, as the law prohibits tipping off, and no explanation will be given in such cases.
When We Verify Your Identity
Verification is not one single event. We confirm basic details at registration, run full KYC checks before your first withdrawal, and review your account again at set thresholds. Our checks run at these points:
- Registration: your name, date of birth, address and contact details, screened against sanctions and politically exposed person (PEP) lists.
- First withdrawal: full document verification before any funds leave your account.
- Threshold review: deposits or withdrawals that exceed internal trigger levels, or behaviour patterns that our monitoring flags.
- Ad hoc review: any time your account activity differs sharply from your verified profile.
Documents we ask for
We ask only for what the rules require: a government-issued photo ID (passport, driving licence or national ID card), proof of address no more than 3 months old (utility bill, bank statement or council tax letter), and proof that you own the payment method used (photo of the card with middle digits covered, or a screenshot of your e-wallet or crypto wallet showing your name). All documents must be legible, unexpired and in your registered name.
The Verification Process Step by Step
Submitting documents takes minutes, and our compliance team reviews them within 24-48 hours. Here is the sequence from upload to clearance:
- 1. Upload your documents through the secure verification area of your account, or email them to [email protected].
- 2. Our compliance team checks each document for validity, legibility and matching details.
- 3. If anything is unclear, we contact you and explain exactly what we need.
- 4. Once cleared, your account is marked as verified and withdrawals are released.
- 5. You receive written confirmation, and future requests are limited to periodic reviews.
How your documents are protected
Your files travel over encrypted connections and sit in access-controlled storage. Only trained compliance staff with a documented business need can view them. We never share verification data with third parties for marketing, and we do not retain card images beyond the period the law requires.
When We Ask for Source of Funds
Source of funds means showing where the money you deposit actually came from. We request it when deposits or cumulative play reach levels where the amounts no longer match your declared profile, or when our monitoring identifies unusual patterns.
A recent payslip, employment contract, bank statement, tax return, or sale agreement usually answers the question. We do not judge what you do for a living; we are required to confirm that deposited funds have a lawful origin. Requests are proportionate to the amounts involved, and we only ask for the documents that the situation demands.
Deposit and Withdrawal Checks
Every deposit and withdrawal passes through automated screening against your verified profile, and unusual sequences are escalated to a human reviewer. Checks include whether funds return to the same method they arrived from.
Withdrawals must, as a rule, be paid back to the same method you deposited with. If you deposited by card, we pay back to that card; crypto payouts go to a wallet you control, processed within 1 hour once your account is verified. Where a method cannot receive refunds, such as Paysafecard, we agree an alternative with you.
Limits apply: minimum deposit and withdrawal of £20, maximum withdrawal of £4,500 per day and £18,000 per month, with payouts processed within 0-24 hours after verification. We charge no fees on our side.
| Check | When it runs | What we look at |
|---|---|---|
| Deposit screening | Every deposit | Method ownership, sanctions match, profile fit |
| Withdrawal screening | Every withdrawal request | Verification status, same-method rule, balance origin |
| Threshold review | Set monetary triggers | Cumulative activity against declared profile |
If Verification Fails or Stops
Refusing to verify is always an option for you, but it carries consequences. Until KYC is complete, withdrawals stay on hold, and we may suspend deposits as well to stop funds building up in an unverified account.
If documents are rejected, we tell you why, whether that is blur, cropping, expiry or a name mismatch, and you can resubmit. If we find deliberate deception, such as falsified documents or an account in someone else's name, we close the account, void winnings where the rules allow, and retain records for the authorities. Repeated failure to respond within 30 days of a request may also lead to closure, with any balance returned to a verified source method.
You can help things move quickly by keeping your registered details current and uploading documents as soon as we ask. Our support team is available 24/7 by live chat and at [email protected].
How Long We Keep Your Documents
We retain verification records for at least 5 years after your account closes, because our licence obliges us to produce them on request from the regulator or law enforcement. After the retention period ends, documents are securely destroyed.
You may request a copy of the personal data we hold about you at any time, and you may ask us to correct anything that is wrong. We respond to data requests within the statutory timeframe.
Frequently asked questions
Why do I need to verify my account before my first withdrawal?
Our Curaçao licence requires KYC before funds leave your account. It confirms you are of legal age, that the account is genuinely yours, and that withdrawals reach the right person.
How long does verification take?
Our compliance team reviews documents within 24-48 hours. If something is unclear, we contact you and explain exactly what to resubmit.
Can I withdraw to a different method than I deposited with?
As a rule, withdrawals go back to the same method used for deposit. Where a method cannot receive payouts, such as Paysafecard, we agree a verified alternative with you.
What happens if I refuse to provide source of funds?
Withdrawals and possibly deposits stay on hold until the request is resolved. Persistent refusal may lead to account closure under our AML obligations.
Are my documents safe with Instaspin Casino?
Yes. Files are transferred over encrypted connections, stored with access controls, and visible only to compliance staff who need them. We never use verification data for marketing.
